Full-dome multifunctional environment

The Lakhta Center Planetarium is another unique object in the constellation of the public spaces in the Complex. The impressive architectural solution, with the exterior designed as a mirror-like sphere which appears suspended in the facade of the Atrium, is just the beginning of a journey where one will find surprises, excitement, things to reflect upon, and new worlds to be discovered.

The technical configuration of the Planetarium makes it a multifunctional hi-tech facility. It combines the effects created by a star projector, digital and laser projectors, astronomical simulation software, and a surround sound system.

The small cozy 90-seat hall is equipped with a transformation system: the seat rows can be folded flat automatically, revealing a stage surface. With these solutions, the Lakhta Center Planetarium can become a starting point for a journey to the stars, a dome theater, a digital auditorium, or a lecture venue.
