Power Efficiency

Power Efficiency

According to the international Power Egency (MEA) the power consumption in Russia exceeds the average level in the UN at 40%. Over 45% of the power consumed in Russia accounts for housing services and utilities. In accordance with the decree of the Government by 2020 Russia is to reduce power consumption of the GDP at 40%, getting closer to the leading European countries in respect of the power efficiency level however the share of the power saving technologies in the total quantity of technologies applied by the Russian producers accounts for 0,006%.

As a large power company Gazprom group plans to implement a model of a power efficient district as a Greenfield project in the construction of a cluster in Lakhta, i.e. propose a complex project where advanced power saving technologies are originally covered in the design solutions of the buildings, equipment and MEP.

Owning to the application of innovative technologies the power consumption for the needs of the business complex will be minimized. The structural particularity of the high-rise building is an intellectual double façade. An airy space between the façade skins will provide both thermal insulation and natural ventilation. In winter it allows keeping warmth and in summer coolness inside the building. An additional saving of power energy will be achieved by substituting conventional heating devices to infra-red radiators and applying the solution which allow re-using the heat emitted by technical and household devices in order to supply heating to the building. In the tower buffer areas sensors will be installed which will maintain automatically a temperature as per the number of people present in a room. If necessary the temperature will be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore all the buildings of the complex will be equipped by sensors adjusting the interior lighting automatically as well as modern plumbingware, to reduce water consumption at 15%. In order to optimize power consumption of the whole district under the project it is planned to rehabilitate heating and power utilities.
