Lakhta Center is a multifunctional complex in St. Petersburg with the Gazprom headquarter and public spaces occupying a third of the area. Construction was completed in October 2018, now start work on the arrangement of business and public areas. The opening will take place in about a year, when the complex will be fully prepared to meet guests.
All 2080 Piles in Lakhta Center Foundation
The works have been completed on time.
In total there are 2080 piles of various diameter and depth in the foundations of the complex. All the piles are bored, i.e. they are not driven but produced directly in the soil.
The following piles have been completed:
– 264 piles 2m in diameter under the tower;
– 848 piles 1,2m in diameter under the multifunctional building and entrance arch;
– 968 piles 60cm in diameter under the stylobat (an underground car park).
The quality of piles and behavior of soil under them is monitored by sensors of four types which will be record information during the entire period of construction and operation of the complex.
The zero cycle works will last until the end of this year.
