Lakhta Center is a multifunctional complex in St. Petersburg with the Gazprom headquarter and public spaces occupying a third of the area. Construction was completed in October 2018, now start work on the arrangement of business and public areas. The opening will take place in about a year, when the complex will be fully prepared to meet guests.
According to an expert sea space is better opposed to by high-rise architecture rather than horizontal architecture

Mr Sablin thinks that “the city located at the sea by its existence symbolizes the confrontation of man and the marine elements. They tried to implement this idea as early as 1960-70s, but because of some hindrances the Soviet-epoch skyscrapers were never built on the coast of the Gulf of Finland. Nowadays the situation has been changed and the project of the first Petersburg-based skyscraper Lakhta Center has all the chances to be put in practice”.
In the expert’s opinion among other large projects being implemented at present on the cost of the Gulf of Finland in Petersburg Lakhta Center can become a new front façade of the city.
