A Weather Station Has Been Installed on the Spire of the Saint Petersburg Skyscraper
A weather station has been installed on the spire of Lakhta Center skyscraper in Saint Petersburg. A video of the industrial climbers working at a height of 462 meters was posted on Instagram on June 28.
“We installed an antenna with a GNSS receiver, which records oscillations of the building top due to wind loads. There is also a weather monitoring system – an automatic weather station that monitors different ambient conditions: temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed”, explained Lakhta Center Project Office Head Georgy Volokushin.
The weather station installed on the spire is the topmost element of the structural health monitoring system, which has more than 3,000 sensors throughout the entire Complex.
